EFR Instructor

The EFR Instructor Course teaches you how to organise and teach the EFR and Care for Children Courses. During the course you will get to practise role model skill demonstrations in Primary Assessment, One Rescuer CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

EFR InstructorA particular benefit to being able to teach the EFR Course is that any student taking the Rescue Diver Course with you can also complete the EFR Course (which is a prerequisite) also with you.
Note: you must be certified as an Emergency First Response Instructor before you can be certified as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

To enroll in an Emergency First Response Instructor Course, an individual must:

- Have completed a sanctioned course in adult and child/infant CPR within the past 24 months

- Have completed a sanctioned course in basic first aid within the past 24 months

- Be 18 years of age

EFR Instructor CourseThe goals of the Emergency First Response Instructor Course are to:

- Assure that instructor candidates understand the Emergency First Response program structure, requirements and procedures.
- Familiarize instructor candidates with the Emergency First Response program philosophy and prepare them to teach courses that are low-stress, performance-based and learner-centered.
- Refine instructor candidatesí primary care, secondary care and Care for Children skills to a role-model level.
- Provide instructor candidates with practical suggestions for organizing and marketing their Emergency First Response courses.
- Encourage instructor candidates to be active Emergency First Response Instructors and to use their skills to train others in the community.
